The Founding of Norbel Metal Service
In 1967 Nico Guglielmin founded Norbel Metal Service as a stand alone Steel Service Center that would go on to be run by 3 generations of his family.

In 1967 Stanley Steel started a division in Pointe-Claire Quebec to be a steel service center service the greater Quebec area.
Norbel Metal Service makes the move to a 100,000 sq ft facility in Etobicoke, Ontario. Centrally located to all their customers with more processing capabilities. This facility was further expanded in 1994, adding an additional 22,000 sq feet of warehouse space.
In 2003 Pointe Claire steel acquired the Quebec service center from Stanley Steel and became their own stand alone service center with 60,000 sq ft of warehouse space.
In 2014, Pointe Claire Steel acquired Green Valley Steel, which operated a 65,000-square-foot facility in Bolton, Ontario. This strategic acquisition enabled Pointe Claire Steel to significantly enhance their service offerings to the Ontario market.
In 2020 Imperial Manufacturing (IMG) acquires Pointe Claire steel to increase their vertical integration and enter the steel service center industry.
In 2023 Imperial Manufacturing (IMG) acquires Norbel Metal Service and expands their capabilities in the steel service industry.
Following the successful acquisitions of Pointe Claire and Norbel Metal Service by the Imperial Manufacturing Group, a new entity was formed: Imperial Metal Services. This merger brought together two long-established companies, enhancing our reach and expanding our capabilities to better serve our customers.
We are Expanding! In 2025 Imperial Metal Services is adding 25,000 sq ft to their main production facility in Etobicoke, Ontario.
